About us:
Muffled Voices Festival is an alliance of professional musicians performing contemporary chamber vocal and symphony music, including small forms of operas and oratorios. The orchestra is led by its soloist and founder, soprano Yulia Petrachuk. Russian-born soprano Yulia Petrachuk studied at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and is a graduate of Bern Opera Studio in Bern, Switzerland. In 2011 Yulia immigrated to the USA and since then has performed with many recognized opera companies and concert venues such as Theater Biel (Switzerland), Ash Lawn Opera Festival (U.S.), Opera Ischia (Italy), Dicapo Opera Theater in New York (U.S.), Great Moscow Hall (Russia), Vocal Productions NYC (U.S.), Nova and Opera Camerata in Washington, D.C. (U.S.), Smetana Hall in Prague (Czech Republic), Carnegie Hall in New York (U.S.), Musikverein and Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna (Austria), and many others. Yulia specializes in contemporary opera and other forms of vocal music of the 20th and 21st centuries. She has performed at many World and U.S. premiers and has robust experience in international performing arts projects, execution, and collaborations in the U.S. and E.U.
Our team:
Soprano Yulia Petrachuk is a soloist at Carnegie Hall in New York (US), Musikverein and Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna (Austria), and many other known venues. Yulia specializes in contemporary classical music and has performed many World and US premieres.
After graduating from the Gnessin Academy in the special class of Alexander Tsygankov, Mr. Omelchenko quickly established himself as one of the most promising folk musicians of his generation playing on balalaika and domra.
In the Sates, Peter is conducting the orchestra of the Washington Balalaika Society, and as a soloist Peter plays with several chamber groups and has taken a growing number of music students under his wing.
Pianist Tatiana Loisha is a winner of the Shostakovitch competition (St. Petersburg, Russia) and the International Competition for Young Pianists (Brest, France). She was a collaborator at Queen Elisabeth Competition, Operalia, BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, and the Montreal International Musical Competition.

"Christmas Oratorio"
At St Andrew's Anglican Church in Moscow
The concert will feature two large-scale choral works, "Hymn to the Sun" by Elie Tamara and "Christmas Oratorio" by Camille Saint-Saens, performed by leading soloists of the world's theaters and concert venues, as well as the Encarnacion Choir and the Muffled Voices String Orchestra.
